"Temple View is committed to being a leader in the push towards carbon neutrality. We hope that our peers in the industry will follow because we can make a difference. We're all lending into projects that are helping energy efficiency nationwide in the U.S. housing stock, and we think we can all be a part of that solution."

Becoming Carbon Neutral
Temple View and South Pole USA, Inc. are using a multi-pronged approach to address the need for increased lending in sustainable homes and engaging with stakeholders. The approach will drive innovation and systemic change, which will lead to cumulative transformations. Below are the steps we plan to take to achieve carbon neutrality.
Promoting Sustainable Lending
In addition to supporting the Spartanburg Gas Recovery project, we will continue to promote sustainable lending in four ways.
Encouraging our borrowers to implement sustainable practices in their projects.
Engaging borrowers on sustainability issues to increase awareness and reduce waste.
Lending on projects that incorporate modern, energy-efficient building materials, appliances, and systems.
Lending in areas with old, inefficient housing stock to encourage new renovations of these properties.
“There is an accelerating long-term shift toward sustainable investing. For us to continue to be leaders in our sector and leaders among our peers, we need to have proactive, progressive sustainability, green investing policies and procedures, and products for our customers. It's not just about being stewards of the earth. It's actually good for business.”
