Promoting Sustainable Lending

In addition to supporting the Spartanburg Gas Recovery project, we will continue to promote sustainable lending in four ways.

Encourage

Encouraging our borrowers to implement sustainable practices in their projects.

Engage

Engaging borrowers on sustainability issues to increase awareness and reduce waste.

Lend

Lending on projects that incorporate modern, energy-efficient building materials, appliances, and systems.

Renovate

Lending in areas with old, inefficient housing stock to encourage new renovations of these properties.

“There is an accelerating long-term shift toward sustainable investing and for us to continue to be leaders in our sector and leaders among our peers. We need to have proactive, progressive sustainability, green investing policies and procedures, and products for our customers. It's not just about being stewards of the earth. It's actually good for business.”
