Becoming Carbon Neutral

Temple View and South Pole USA, Inc. are using a multi-pronged approach to address the need for increased lending in sustainable homes and engaging with stakeholders. The approach will drive innovation and systemic change, which will lead to cumulative transformations. Below are the steps we plan to take to achieve carbon neutrality.

Improve data granularity and quality for all sites and emissions sources on an ongoing basis.

Step 2

Plan to measure Temple View Capital's complete Scope 3 footprint in the future, including investments.

Step 3

Develop an emission reduction strategy for Temple View Capital's emissions.

Step 4

Set and submit a Science-Based Target (SBT) to demonstrate commitment.

Step 5

Share full GHG footprint & reduction strategy communications with stakeholders.

Step 6

Purchase carbon credits to offset Temple View Capital emissions.

Promoting Sustainable Lending

In addition to supporting the Spartanburg Gas Recovery project, we will continue to promote sustainable lending in four ways.

Encourage

Encouraging our borrowers to implement sustainable practices in their projects.

Engage

Engaging borrowers on sustainability issues to increase awareness and reduce waste.

Lend

Lending on projects that incorporate modern, energy-efficient building materials, appliances, and systems.

Renovate

Lending in areas with old, inefficient housing stock to encourage new renovations of these properties.

“There is an accelerating long-term shift toward sustainable investing. For us to continue to be leaders in our sector and leaders among our peers, we need to have proactive, progressive sustainability, green investing policies and procedures, and products for our customers. It's not just about being stewards of the earth. It's actually good for business.”
